Our 2-sided Scarab earrings were inspired by the image of the Egyptian beetle.
The beetle being the emblem of Khepera, the God of the morning sun, was regarded by ancient Egyptians as a significant symbol of resurrection and immortality. Possibly New Kingdom, circa 1300-1000 B.C.
The meaning of the inscription on the back: “This is a scarab saying:
Tut Ankh Amun, Ruler of Southern Iunu” (Thebes, Known as Karnak).
24K gold-plate over pewter, enhanced by Lapis and Carnelian. Gold filled ear-wires.
