Greek entwined Snake brooch

    Our brooch was inspired by the details of a Greek bracelet.

    The dual creative forces (good and evil) within the world of forms, when twined around a staff, the two snakes form the caduceus, a symbol of Hermès, the messenger of the gods.   In Greek mythology, the caduceus was found when Hermes separated two serpents locked in combat, and came to represent peace.

    24 Karat gold-plate over pewter.  Measures approximately 1.25” x 2”.
