Fabergé Lily-Of-the-Valley Basket brooch

     Fabergé’s acknowledged floral masterpiece (original image on left), is the fabulous pearl, diamond, gold and nephrite Lily-of-the-Valley Basket, now in New Orleans. This brooch is adapted from one of the blossoms in that basket, which was a favorite possession of the last Tsarina for whom it was created in 1896. The Lily-of-the-Valley was a favorite flower of the Tsarina since it symbolized happiness and martial bliss. Original image on left.
