Old Ankh pendant

The Ankh is recognized as an emblem of Ancient Egypt.  The theory is that it combines the male and female symbols of Osiris (the T-cross) and Isis (the oval) and signifies the union of heaven and earth.  It represents Life and Immortality, and is often depicted as being carried by the gods.

This exquisite pendant was inspired by a mirror case that is in the form of an Ankh.  Carved in wood it is gold-plated and inlaid with the King's title and name which appear in shallow relief on the handle and on the upper surround, flanked by lotus flowers.

24K antique gold plate over pewter.  18" Gold plate chain.  Measures approximately 0.75” x 2”.
